Meet the Team

Wild Rose Caregivers is a collective of passionate people who truly want to help other people. The company was created out of a desire to be more personal rather than less. The primary answer that most of our caregivers give in terms of why they chose this vocation is that "they just love helping seniors or disabled".

The criteria for selection of caregivers is based on the premise "would you hire this person to care for your son or your sister?". The management team is created of people who are dedicated to not only caring for our clients but also for our caregivers. We are the farmer's market of home health care … locally grown and dedicated to quality and our community.

Meet…

Started Wild Rose Caregivers in 2007 while attending Concordia College working on a degree in Sociology. Experiencing life with a Downs Syndrome aunt and aging grandparents I quickly found what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. With a strong background in sports (Hockey/Rugby), I gained the knowledge and coaching experience to be able to bring like minded people together for a common goal. In this case it was to help those who needed it most in our community. At the age of 18 I worked at the People in Need Shelter and this gave me a great deal of life experience and insight into disabilities of all ranges. My philosophy is simple "service above one's self".

My education background is a degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta but all of my experience related to this industry comes from 50+ years of life with my Downs sister and a lifetime with my mother, who lived with me until 90. I also coached rugby for 35 years and then spent 15 years in disaster recovery. All of this has led me to this home health care path, which has proven to be extraordinarily rewarding.

I've enjoyed working at Wild Rose Caregivers since 2011. Having been an RN for over 20 years in hospital, hospice and home care, I know there is no place like home. I also have a keen interest in supporting clients with developmental disabilities and have been trained in several different teaching and support methods, including ABA, AVB, TEACCH, RDI and CPI.

I have been working with Wild Rose Caregivers since August of 2013. I am currently enrolled in the Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program with the Canadian Payroll Association. I have experienced first hand the "tetris" of scheduling and am now responsible for Wild Rose Caregiver's bookkeeping. I look forward to growing with this company.

I joined the Wild Rose Caregivers front office in 2014. I enjoy helping provide support and communication to both our caregivers and our elderly and disabled individuals. My previous front office experience in meeting people and organizing and scheduling appointments is an asset in this position. I enjoy working for a caring, young growing company.

I have been working with Wild Rose Caregivers since February of 2015. Having previously worked in the cellular phone industry I enjoy the challenge of performing at a high paced level. The "tetris" of scheduling has been an eye opening experience. Being able to create schedules and assist with the care of our clients has been very rewarding and exciting. I'm excited to be a part of this amazing, continually growing company.

I have been working with Wild Rose Caregivers as a companion since 2010. I have recently moved to the Field Supervisor and Educator role for the company. I have a degree in Kinesiology as well as Education. I was an instructor for CADS (Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing) for three years. I have played rugby for 10+ years from locally (MB, ONT, AB), to an international level (Women's World Cup 2006). I look forward to growing with Wild Rose Caregivers in the future years.

I have been working with Wild Rose Caregivers since February of 2016 in the role of the Field Supervisor. It is a challenging position which I enjoy immensely, as it allows me to work directly with individuals and their families in addition to supporting our staff. The challenge of creating successful care plans that are specific and effective for each individual is very rewarding.

I joined Wild Rose Caregivers Ltd as an intern from the University of Alberta's Dept. of Psychology. Not only am I receiving a hands on education in terms of working with individuals with developmental delays, I am being exposed to all the various levels of delivery in terms of providing care for these individuals.
