Our Team

Meet the Team:

Our office staff is just as diverse as our caregivers.   Meet the faces behind the people that you email and talk to on the phone.

Sean Wright
CEO
Sean started Wild Rose Caregivers in 2007 while attending Concordia College working on a degree in Sociology. Experiencing life with an Aunt that has Down Syndrome, and aging grandparents, he quickly found what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. With a strong background in sports (Hockey/Rugby), he gained the knowledge and coaching experience to be able to bring like minded people together for a common goal. In this case it was to help those who needed it most in our community. At the age of 18 he worked at the People in Need Shelter and this gave him a great deal of life experience and insight into disabilities of all ranges. His philosophy is simple "service above one's self".
Helen Wright
CFO
Helen attended Concordia High School/College in Edmonton and received a BA from the University of Alberta majoring in Psychology. She spent 20 years teaching and delivering rugby throughout Alberta and 10 years working in Disaster Recovery. Helen helped Sean start Wild Rose Caregivers in 2007 and has worked in this capacity since then. She has spent a lifetime engaged in the seniors and disabled community caring for both her mother and her sister.
Jodi Lammers
Bookkeeper
Jodi does lots and lots of paperwork for WRC (aka Invoicing, Payroll & Bookkeeping). In Jodi's spare time she like to garden, snowshoe, read, and walk her dog Spot. Jodi will be starting a new hobby this summer - beekeeping.
Mike Burrell
Communications Manager

Mike has over 36 years working primarily in the IT/Telecommunications industry. His past experience ranges from Operations, Procurement, Process design to Account management.

He is an “out of the box” thinker who is always looking for a better way of delivering service. Mike’s passion for working at WRC is in part due to his Dad’s suffering and passing from Alzheimer’s. His Dad was fortunate enough to have an amazing Caregiver who provided much needed respite for Mike’s Mom and as a new companion for his Dad. Mike’s passion to fight Alzheimer’s lead him to create the Grey Matters charity hockey team to raise money for support and a cure. His hobbies include hockey, sailing and family.

Laura Wilhelm
Co-Clinical Manager

Laura has been a team member at Wild Rose Caregivers since 2014 when she first began as a Health Care Aide working closely with clients in the field. Upon beginning her role as Field Supervisor, she developed Positive Behavioural Supports/Autism training and awareness that sparked a desire to learn more about those with developmental disabilities.

Now as Clinical Manager, Laura is passionate to support Field staff, clients and families to achieve a framework of care that best suites everyone’s needs; not only with hands on nursing tasks, but with understanding the essence of those who are served by Wild Rose caregivers and how we can best support those with developmental disabilities.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys many interests including spending time with her family, knitting, camping, hiking in the mountains and participating in community events.

Andrea Loewen
Co-Clinical Manager

Andrea is excited to be part of a company who focuses on maximizing the independence of so many individuals. Andrea is dedicated to helping people and aims to make a positive difference in people’s lives. She has worked as a licensed practical nurse in various settings including homecare, trauma, E.N.T. and orthopedics. As a nurse, Andrea’s goal is to provide excellent client-centered care. This includes ensuring a safe environment, appropriately trained staff and working with clients and families to build the right, specific care plan. As well, Andrea recognizes the importance of assessing and meeting the ever-changing needs of each person. Her goal is to make every client, family and caregiver feel heard and supported. When not working, Andrea loves to travel, garden and spend time with her friends and animals.

Martha Valencia
Office Manager/Human Resources Coordinator

Martha might be the first person you meet if you are a new employee at WRC. Her life passion is inspiring people to reach their full potential, which is exactly her focus as our HR person.

As first-generation immigrant to Canada, Martha can relate to many of our caregivers and clients that are grateful to call this beautiful country home. Originally from Colombia, you can bet she still enjoys cumbia, coffee and arepas.

Martha also enjoys quality time with family and friends as well as traveling and exploring new places. In the evenings you will often find her networking on social media and growing her online business in the hair care industry.

At her office you’ll find a selection of personal development books, but her Audible app holds a more extensive library in audio format. She can recommend a few authors that have impacted her life.

Martha’s goal is to leverage resources to build a strong employee force that continues to make WRC a leader in home care.

Allison Dahl
Field Supervisor/Educator
Allison has been working with Wild Rose Caregivers as a companion since 2010. She has moved into the Field Supervisor and Educator role for the company. She played rugby for 10+ years from locally (MB, ONT, AB), to an international level (Women's World Cup 2006). She currently plays indoor/outdoor soccer, and trains in the sport of kettlebell. She looks forward to seeing the exciting new things Wild Rose Caregivers has planned future years.
Alberta Karikari

Alberta has live in London, England for 7 year and really enjoyed their rich culture, especially,  Horse Guards Parade which takes place every morning in Central London.  She likes to travel mostly to Africa to visit family.

Maggy Perez
Field Supervisor

Meet Margarita (Maggy). Our newest addition to the WRC clinical team. Margarita was raised in Spain and moved to Canada at the age of 13. She learned English as a second language and eventually obtained her HCA certificate through Nightingale Academy. Margarita  has always had a passion for helping others through emotional support, understanding, compassion and kindness.

When not at work, you will find Margarita spending time with her kiddos or helping out in the community. Margarita has many passions, some of which include gardening, crafting, writing and instilling hope in others. One of her superpowers is finding rainbows in the dark.

Rebecca Reid
Safety and Training Coordinator

Rebecca is our "lady of many hats". She is our Training Coordinator; making sure that the caregivers get all of the classes that they need. She is our Safety Coordinator; ensuring that all of the caregivers and clients are kept safe and well. She is also our resources expert; she gathers information from the community and puts it all in one place for all of our clients and caregivers to access.

When Rebecca isn't working at Wild Rose, she is a food blogger, certified food judge and social media influencer for Edmonton and area, an advocate for shopping and eating locally. She also volunteers her time to various fundraisers to eliminate homelessness in Edmonton.
